The Eibsee is one of the most beautiful lakes in the German alps in Bavaria. When you walk around the turquoise blue lake you have an overwhelming view of the highest mountain in Germany, called Zugspitze.

The day at the Eibsee is one of our favorite memories of the year 2018. Everything was perfect. When we arrived with the famous old train called Zugspitzbahn, there were dark clouds on the mountaintop and everywhere was fresh snow. While we watched the impressive reflection of the mountain panorama in the cristal clear water, the sun appeared behind the mountains.
In the summer the lake is like the Carribeans in Bavaria, with its turquoise blue water and its little islands. But it is even more beautiful in the winter. For us, the Eibsee is one of the most unique spots in Bavaria. We highly recommend to go there when you visit Germany – you will make memories you’ll never forget.

It is a perfect one-day-trip from Munich. When you take the train you can drive the last part with the famous Zugspitzbahn. It is a very cute old train. To walk arround the lake takes 1 hour and 45 minutes and it is a very easy walk.
