A Day in the Life of a Resident Doctor | Anesthesiology (Intern Year)
A day in the life of a resident doctor can be grueling—4AM alarms, long shifts, draining work.
But it's not all about the tough schedule. You begin to actually practice medicine after years of medical school, taking the lead on patient care, developing relationships with your patients and co-interns, and pursuing the career you always dreamed.
In this video, Dr. Eve takes us through a typical day in her life as an anesthesioslogy resident during intern year at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore, MD. She shows us her daily routine—waking up early to exercise, getting to work, completing rounds, unwinding after her shift, cooking dinner, and relaxing.
We hope this video gives you a sense of what life is really like as a medical resident.
