Nathan Adelson Hospice Butterfly Release 2020
Welcome to Nathan Adelson Hospice’s 17th annual Butterfly Release. This year we cannot meet in person due to the COVID-19 outbreak, but we can still share in the celebration of our loved ones. Our video presentation is a wonderful way to remember and honor our loved ones while still practicing safe social distancing. As the lovable Winnie the Pooh said, "If there ever comes a day when we can't be together, keep me in your heart, I'll stay there forever."
The symbolism behind the butterfly release comes from an American Indian legend. The story states that anyone who desires a wish to come true must first catch a butterfly then whisper that special message or wish to the butterfly. Since a butterfly can make no sound, the secret is not revealed to anyone but the Great Spirit who hears and sees all.
