Gangland Associate Omer Sidiq Murdered in Glasgow #streetnews (Scotland)

Glasgow south side stabbing victim Omar Sadiq was caught up in drug feuds and used guns to intimidate rival gangsters.

Sadiq was found in a pool of blood yesterday after being knifed on Boydstone road near to the Silverburn shopping centre.

Cops stood guard around an abandoned Audi following the brutal blade attack and a scattered first aid box was seen on the ground.

A long-standing gang war for control of the drugs market has been raging for years across the south side.

Brutal attacks using knives, guns and weapons like tire irons have been carried out while drug money is allegedly funnelled through legitimate businesses in the city,

Gangland figure Sadiq is linked to the race-hate killers Imran “Baldy” Shahid, his brother Zeeshan Shahid and Faisal Mushtaq who were all sentenced to life in November 2006 after being found guilty of killing 15-year-old Kriss Donald in a racist murder in the south side of Glasgow in March 2004.

The thugs drove terrified Kriss around Scotland for hours before stabbing him, pouring petrol over him and setting him on fire while he was still alive.

Imran Shahid got life with a minimum of 25 years. Zeeshan and two other murderers, Mohammed Mushtaq and Daanish Zahid, were also given life sentences.

Sadiq has himself been caged after over a violent feud between rival gangsters more than ten years ago.

In March 2009, the then 21-year-old appeared at the High Court in Glasgow with Ahsan Shahid and Farooq Mushtaq where they were jailed for a total of 11 years for threats and intimidation- including using guns in Pollokshields.

Sadiq and Mustag were convicted of using a car to chase down rivals Mohammed Omar Khan and Younis Ishaque on Pollokshaws Road on July 25, 2008.
Witnesses said they pointed a firearm at the victims and tried to hit their car.
Just six days later the pair carried out a similar attack in Pollokshields on Mohammed Imran Khan and Adil Farooq.

Sadiq was also convicted of committing a breach of the peace against Mr Ishaque and Mohammed Omar Khan.

And his friends were the first ever to be convicted in Scotland of a racist murder of a white person .
