18 BJP MLAs suspended from Karnataka Assembly for 6 months over ‘disrespect’ to Speaker

Eighteen BJP MLAs were suspended from the Karnataka Assembly for six months for allegedly "disrespecting" Speaker U T Khader. The suspension came after the legislators stormed the Speaker’s podium, threw papers at him, and staged a protest over a four percent Muslim reservation in public contracts. The protest also included demands for a judicial probe into an alleged "honey trap" case. Despite the order, the MLAs refused to leave, leading to their forced eviction by marshals. The suspension motion was passed on the final day of the budget session.
