James Gunn REJECTS DCU Event Rumors in January 2023

Rumors of an anticipated DC Universe event have been refuted by James Gunn. Since Gunn and Peter Safran were designated co-heads of DC Studios following the Warner Bros. Discovery merger, the DCU has experienced an unparalleled degree of change.

DC Studios has struggled with tone inconsistencies, a lack of the individualized management that Marvel Studios has under Kevin Feige, and a general lack of direction.

Gunn and Safran are working to turn things around at DC Studios. Safran has been in charge of the studio's production and commercial operations, while Gunn has taken over as the head of creative direction.
