USOW & YWCA PRESENT: BREAKOUT SESSION: HOW TO PRACTICE INTERSECTIONAL ORGANIZING DURING A PANDEMIC

USOW recently partnered with YCWA and other national women’s organizations from across the country with special guest Janelle Monáe to host a virtual town hall to #StandAgainstRacism. The panel discussed solutions to secure full access to the ballot box and ensure a fair and complete Census count with USOW Co-Chair Valerie Jarrett, Co-Founder of Supermajority, Cecile Richards, Director of the National Domestic Workers Alliance Ai-jen Poo, and more!

COVID-19 can’t put our work for gender equity on pause and we must work harder than ever to ensure that people of color are not overlooked during this time. After the panel, USOW hosted a breakout session featuring a few of our amazing Ambassadors to talk about their community-based work and how everyone can help make a difference in the fight for intersectionality. The info session aimed to teach anyone who is interested in how to practice intersectional community organizing during this global pandemic.
