Hey there, neighbors, Kevin here with etrailer, and today we're gonna be taking a closer look at the Victron Energy MultiPlus-II inverter charger system. Now the MultiPlus-II system has a lot of upgrades over just the MultiPlus-I system, but let's break this down a little bit further. This is essentially going to be where all of our power is gonna be running through. So we've got our batteries running out to the distributor and then coming over to our MultiPlus system. So all the DC wiring is running into this, which is also going to be sending that DC power out to our DC distribution panel that's in our power center over inside the trailer. And then it also is gonna be sending out power back to the batteries to recharge them.
On top of that, this says our AC input, our AC output. So we have all the AC power running between our shore power inlet, this, and then over to our panel. On the outputs, you also have a second output, which is right above it. For that one, you do have to do a little bit more programming into the system here to tell it how you want it to work. And a lot of the use cases I've seen of this, usually people are just routing a second like outlet into the area where they're mounting everything up and they're just setting the voltage and amperage for that just a little bit lower to what they need it to be and not fully going with that 50 amp service like we have just behind there.
Now there's a couple of options when it comes to this. We've got different wattages we can use depending on what kind of inverter style we're go in with. This specific model is rated for at 3,000 watts and that's what's going to be our power when we're boondocking. So we'd only be able to run things up to about 3,000 watts here. Now if 3,000 watts is gonna be too much for you or not enough, Victron has a bunch of other options when it comes to the inverters, especially inverted chargers.
They have a range from about 500 watts up to 10,000 watts. So you can really do a lot with their systems, but obviously you're gonna need to add on a lot of other equipment as well with your inverter. Now there's also the difference between amperage. So our trailer has 50 amp service, so we need to make sure that we are matching that and having the correct amount of inputs and outputs, so we had to go with the 50 amp version. Now coming down just a little bit loader, we have our charging and inverting indicators here.
So when this is actually running, it'll tell us we have our mains on, whether or not we're charging, and then what phase we're in of it. So bulk is gonna be up to about 80% of your charge rate and then you start getting into absorption, which is that 80% up to a hundred percent, and float is just your kind of maintaining charge. So your battery's naturally gonna lose voltage over time and just need to have that little bit of charge to kind of keep it up and running properly and maintained. On the inverter side, you can see if your inverter's on. If there ends up being an issue, maybe you got too heavy a temperature, it's gonna overheating in here, this is gonna pop on. You got a low battery that'll pop on. And then also if there's any kind of overload, maybe you're trying to pull too much. You can also see all of this on whatever kind of GX device. So in our case, we went and installed the Ekrano. So all of this information that we're gonna see on the MultiPlus, we can also see on our Ekrano or we can just download the app from Victron as well and be able to see everything that's going on. Now if you're wondering what the difference is between the MultiPlus-II and II, there are a few different things here. So with this one, this one has better grid compliance. So this is going to meet a lot of the different standards that are out there for our shore power connection. So it's kind of important in some areas that you are following those policies and this is gonna help you do that. And there's a lot of different settings you can kind of change in here to really make sure that you are following all that. Along with that, this is gonna have a lower idle power consumption. So when this is just sitting here pulling power from the battery, it's not gonna pull as much and you know, not drain your batteries as quickly as it would with the MultiPlus system. This also is gonna have a much stronger and powerful microprocessor in it, which is gonna get a bette
