The Hidden Pattern in AI Governance: 7 Industries, 1 Conversation
This week I noticed something in the AI and data trends I track.
AI governance frameworks appeared as a connector across seven completely unrelated domains. Including SpaceX's operational environment. And none of the people in those seven conversations know the others are asking the same questions.
Here is what that pattern means:
We have passed the point where AI governance is a compliance department problem. It is becoming a cross-functional fluency requirement that spans organizations vertically and horizontally.
At the same time, cross-functional collaboration appeared as a connector across six different domains: Artificial Intelligence, Salesforce Operations, Data Privacy Compliance, Data Science, Data Engineering, and Data Intelligence.
The pattern: every time a new capability layer lands in enterprise AI - governance, security, evaluation, deployment - organizations discover they need someone who can speak across all of it. That person does not exist in most org charts today.
The organizations that build cross-functional AI literacy now will be two years ahead of the ones that realize they need it after their first major incident.
Watch the job postings in this space. They are getting very specific, very fast.
