Inside the sarod

Sarod is made of whole piece of teak wood, and a soundboard is made of goat skin stretched across the face of the resonator.

This sarod is 19-stringed lute-like instrument — four main strings used for playing the melody, two drone strings, two chikari strings and eleven sympathetic strings. It is a Amjad Ali Khan type
