Renowned author Roger Crowley joins us to discuss the events leading up to fall of Constantinople in 1453, the siege, and the historical legacy of this event that brought an end to the Byzantine Empire.

Roger Crowley is a best-selling historian with deep interests in the Mediterranean world and its surrounding area. He has written a number of award winning books on the Mediterranean, including Constantinople: The Last Great Siege/1453, Empires of the Sea – a Sunday Times (UK) History Book of the Year in 2009 and a New York Times Bestseller – and City of Fortune on Venice.
