Was There a better Way To Take These Bolts Out? I Guess I forgot more Than Most ever Knew

How to find a Exhaust leak in a saturn , Saturn vue exhaust leak repair I had a loud exhaust come into the shop. I took a look at it. Aside from a little rust it seems to be okay! Then we find that our exhaust bolts are rusting off! I tried to put a 10mm nut on the exhaust bolts to hold it together but that didn't work. So I tried to knock the bolts out with my air chisel. This could work for you but my air hose has bunch of holes in it so it wouldn't work. So I had to bring out some REAL TOOLS! an Acetenyl torch! Heating it up a bunch didn't work and actually only ended up swelling my exhaust bolts. Then I started realizing that I'd made a rookie mistake. I apparently have forgot more than what most people know....
