ABANDONED NASCAR Race Track - Occoneechee / Orange Speedway

We went and explored the ABANDONED NASCAR Race Track. One of the First Dirt Tracks and the only surviving NASCAR Dirt Speedway. The Occoneechee Speedway is located in NASCAR inaugural 1949 season. It dates back to NASCAR inaugural 1949 season. It is also known as NASCAR Historic Orange Speedway. The name was change to Orange Speedway in 1954. The track was used from 1948-1968, when it pretty much became abandoned speedway. The last NASCAR race ever held here was won by none other than Richard Petty.
