Inside the Canton Tower at Guangzhou

Canton Tower formerly known as Guangzhou TV Astronomical and Sightseeing Tower Chinese: 广州电视台天文及观光塔) and also known as Guangzhou Tower Chinese: 广州塔), is a 600 metre tall multi-purpose observation tower in the Haizhu District of Guangzhou (historically known as Canton or Kwangchow), Guangdong, China. The tower was topped out in 2009 and it became operational on 29 September 2010 for the 2010 Asian Games. The tower briefly held the title of tallest tower in the world, replacing the CN Tower, before being surpassed by the Tokyo Skytree. It was the tallest structure in China prior to the topping out of Shanghai Tower on 3 August 2013. It is now the third tallest tower and the fifth-tallest freestanding structure in the world.
Rooftop observatory[edit]
The indoor public observatory is 449 m above the ground, which takes the form of a terraced elliptical space, roughly half the size of a standard football field. Opened in December 2011, the rooftop at 488 m was the highest and largest outdoor observation deck in the world, taking over the title from the observation deck of Burj Khalifa at 452m.[25] This remained the case until 14 October 2014, when the record of highest outdoor observatory was retaken by Burj Khalifa when it opened its new observatory called At The Top - Sky, at a height of 555m.[26]

Sixteen transparent "crystal" passenger cars, each with a diameter of 3.2 m (10 ft) and able to carry four to six people, travel on a track round the edge of the tower's roof, taking between 20 and 40 minutes to circumnavigate the rooftop.[20] The installation is described by the media as a Ferris wheel; however, its passenger cars are not suspended from the rim of a wheel and remain horizontal without being fully rotated, and the track, which follows the incline of the roof, is closer to the horizontal than the vertical.[27][28] Because this Ferris wheel is operating at high altitude, it was designed to be able to resist 8-magnitude earthquakes and Beaufort Scale 12 typhoons.

广州塔 英语 又称广州新电视塔，昵稱小蠻腰，位于中国广州市海珠区艺洲赤岗塔附近地面，海拔高程600米，距离珠江南岸125米，与海心沙岛及珠江新城隔江相望。是一座以观光旅游为主，具有广播电视发射、文化娱乐和城市窗口功能的電波塔，为2010年在广州举行的第十六届亚洲运动会提供转播服务[1]。
广州塔由上海建工集团负责施工，在2009年9月竣工[2]。并于2010年10月1日起正式对公众开放[3]。广州塔竣工后的整体高度达到600米，其中塔身主体454米，天线桅杆146米，成为广州的新地标。但这一高度在2012年3月1日，被日本东京晴空塔（634米）的世界第一高塔超越[4]。此外，广州塔比世界第一高楼哈里發塔（828米）矮228米，在世界最高的独立构筑物列表中排名第5。

La Torre de televisión de Cantón (chino simplificado: 广州塔,tradicional: 廣州塔) antes conocida como Guangzhou TV, está ubicada en el Distrito de Haizhu, Cantón, de la República Popular China. Fue terminada a finales de 2009 y entró en funcionamiento el 29 de septiembre de 2010 para los Juegos Asiáticos de 2010. Con 600 metros de altura, es la segunda torre de telecomunicaciones más alta del mundo, tras la Tokyo Skytree y la quinta estructura más alta del mundo después de del Burj Khalifa, de 828 metros de altura, Tokyo Skytree de 634 metros, la Torre de Shanghái de 632 metros y las Torres Abraj Al Bait de 601 metros.

Телебашня Гуанчжоу (кит. 广州塔, англ. Canton Tower) — вторая по высоте телебашня в мире. Построена в 2005—2010 годах компанией ARUP к Азиатским Играм 2010 года. Высота телебашни составляет 600 метров. До высоты 450 метров башня возведена в виде комбинации гиперболоидной несущей сетчатой оболочки и центрального ядра. Гиперболоидная конструкция сетчатой оболочки телебашни Гуанчжоу соответствует патенту 1899 года русского инженера В. Г. Шухова.[1]

Сетчатая оболочка башни выполнена из стальных труб большого диаметра. Башню венчает стальной шпиль высотой 160 метров. Башня предназначена для трансляции ТВ- и радио-сигналов, а также для обзора панорамы Гуанчжоу и рассчитана на приём 10 000 туристов в день.
Der Canton Tower (chinesisch 广州电视观光塔; Pinyin: Guǎngzhōu Diàn​shì Guān​guāngtǎ) ist ein 600 Meter hoher Fernseh- und Aussichtsturm im chinesischen Guangzhou.Die außergewöhnliche Architektur besteht aus einer hyperbolischen Struktur von zwei versetzt laufenden Ellipsen und wurde in einer Kooperation des niederländischen Architekturbüro Information Based Architecture (IBA) mit dem Londoner Ingenieurbüro Ove Arup & Partners Hong Kong Ltd (Aruba) entworfen. Seitdem der Turm während der Errichtungszeit den CN Tower mit 553 Meter Höhe im kanadischen Toronto als höchsten Fernsehturm abgelöst hat, war er der höchste Fernsehturm der Welt sowie die zweithöchste freistehende Struktur der Welt. Den Rang des höchsten Fernsehturm verlor er bereits am 18. März 2011 an den Tokyo Sky Tree, welcher 634 Meter hoch ist. Seitdem ist er das vierthöchste freistehende Bauwerk der Welt nach dem Burj Khalifa in Dubai (830 Meter), dem Tōkyō Sky Tree in Tokio (634 Meter) und dem Mecca Royal Clock Tower Hotel in Mekka (601 Meter).
