Managing Spasms By Letting Them Have Their Way
My “normal” spasms are mostly positional...moving my legs or laying down or leaning back. I can trigger them if I need them to help me...or sometimes trigger them because I just moved to quick and didn’t take my time.
My “abnormal” spasms are beyond my normal line. They have a mind of their own and can be triggered by cold weather, stress, barometric pressure changing, when I am do fighting a sickness, when my body feels pain that I don’t know about, or hormones and “that time of the month”. These spasms all look different, can hit randomly and vary in length and intensity. I really don’t have a lot of control over these spasms like I can somewhat control my “normal” ones.
This is something I have learned to do to help manage these “abnormal” spasms. There are certain times I can “feel” inside my body when it feels like an energy field is building and building inside me. I know
I am in for a very rough day of tremendous nerve pain and wild body movements. But...I have learned, that for me, if I will go lay down and endure just letting them have their way, that most of the time, it really helps my body regulate and get back to my normal and then I can get back on with my day. This doesn’t always work, but I would say it works about 70% of the time. On the days it doesn’t, I stay in bed. But the days it does, I am able to get back up and enjoy and function through the rest of my
day.
If you were with me, you would hear me say, “I need to go lay down for about 30 minutes or so” and that is all I would say.
I set my camera and let it roll this week and you can see what goes on behind the closed door of “I need to go rest...”
And now you have the rest of the story! :)
I hope this can help someone else manage their crazy spasms!
