Healing Little Hearts Mini Documentary

The M.P. Shah Hospital, partnering with the Healing Little Hearts Foundation (HLH) and Jain Social Group Nairobi, hosted the 9th Open Heart Surgeries and Cardiac Interventions Camp. The camp aimed at ensuring that every child needing heart surgery is able to receive it and live a normal and healthy life.

The team of surgeons from the UK arrived on Thursday 3rd November 2022 and began the screening of the little ones. The first open heart surgery was done on the morning of Friday, 4th November 2022. Our patients came from all over the country and we screened 105 children (with the youngest being 8 months and the oldest being 16 years), 17 open heart surgeries (with the youngest being 1 year 1 month and the oldest being 6 years), and 8 cardiac catheterizations (with the youngest being 1 year 4 months and the oldest being 5 years). There were no complications and all patients were discharged to recover at home.
