The VEIL NEBULA with a Telescope (Astrophotography)

The Veil Nebula and Pickering's Triangle

In this video, I photograph the Veil Nebula using a DSLR camera and telescope.

The "Western" Veil Nebula and Pickering's Triangle to be exact. I guess I should have checked to make sure I could fit the entire Cygnus Loop in my field of view before I started filming... you'll see what I mean.

The Veil Nebula is a supernova remnant in the constellation Cygnus. The entire area is known as the Cygnus Loop, and includes the Eastern Veil Nebula, the Western Veil Nebula, and Pickering's Triangle.

I must admit, the final image was a little noisy. More exposure time would help improve the SNR (signal-to-noise ratio), but what else is new!

Images I've captured of the Veil Nebula over the years using different cameras and telescopes: https://astrobackyard.com/ngc-6960-western-veil-nebula/
