This video is the complete rebuild of the GM 10 bolt 8.5 axle assembly in my 1971 cutlass 442 that i originally bought in high school. In this video I change out the stock 2.56 gear set, open differential and 28 spline axles to a new set of 3.73 Yukon gears, Yukon Grizzly locker and 30 spline Dutchman axles. The video includes information on the following and not necessarily in this order. Identifying axles and gears, parts selection, proper axle disassembly and cleaning, pinion bearing removal, How to make a pinion setup bearing, axle pre assembly and gear ware checks.
