2019 AgEmerge Headline - Gabe Brown explores his journey in regenerative agriculture.

Leading the paradigm change, Gabe Brown believes that faith, family and working with the
natural resources that God has provided allows us a meaningful life. We enjoy using these
resources to regenerate landscapes for a sustainable future. Their ranch is located just east of Bismarck, ND. He and his wife Shelly have grown their operation to 5,000 acres of owned
and leased land. They believe in and practice Holistic Management, farming and ranching in
nature’s image. Improving soil health is a priority and no-till farming has been practiced
since 1993. Utilizing cover and companion crops they’ve created a diverse cropping
strategy. These strategies have allowed them to eliminate the use of synthetic fertilizers,
fungicides, and pesticides and striving to do the same thing with herbicides. In addition, they
don’t use GMOs or glyphosate. Employing an ever-evolving grazing strategy allows pasture
recovery time, improved soil health and mineral and water cycles. The results have been
exciting, with increased production, profit and a higher quality of life for their family and their
future generations.
