🌊 Dining Out in Brownsville: My Thoughts on Cayuoco Just had dinner at the new coastal-themed spot in Brownsville off Ruben Torres — Cayuoco — and wanted to share a few honest thoughts. The vibe is spot on — breezy, laid-back, and with that seaside-meets-South-Texas feel that makes you want to slow down and enjoy the evening. I tried their surf-and-turf: filet mignon with shrimp in a lobster-bisque cream sauce. That combo was the highlight of my meal — rich and comforting. The loaded mashed potatoes were pretty good too, though the steamed veggies felt a bit… standard. The seafood consommé didn’t quite hit the mark for me, and my mojito mostly tasted like lime juice. Service was friendly and competent. So overall — a good dinner, thanks especially to the atmosphere and a few solid dishes. It may not have blown me away in every respect, but I can definitely see the potential. I hope Cayuoco keeps growing and refining what they’ve started. If you’re looking for a chill, coastal-style spot for a casual night out in Brownsville — give Cayuoco a try. — Craig Grove, Broker/Owner & REALTOR® GRT Realty | Brownsville, TX #BrownsvilleGuy #GRTRealty #BrownsvilleEats #SupportLocal #realtor
