Harry Potter Robes: Amazon vs Official Robes

Can’t decide between splurging on the official Harry Potter robes or just getting cheaper ones off of Amazon? Here’s a comprehensive breakdown of the key differences between the two.

• Button: Amazon’s is bigger
• Wand pocket: official’s is narrow and hidden, Amazon’s is wider and external
• Pockets: none on Amazon robe
• Sleeves: wider on official robe
• Hood: official’s is wider with longer tail
• Color (Gryffindor): official = burgundy/maroon, Amazon = bright ruby red

I opted for the Amazon robes in the end because the color was the most important aspect for me. When I first saw the Gryffindor robes at the parks, I was incredibly disappointed and I actually shouted, “Why is Gryffindor MAROON!?? Ron HATES maroon!” inside the store. 🤪

I have never regretted my Amazon robe because I absolutely LOVE the bright red color. The only thing I would change about my Amazon robe is the length, because I find that it is too short and therefore makes ME look short. Otherwise, it is the perfect robe for me!
