Slow Living in France

Since quarantine ended here in France, I've been learning that a slower life at home with less noise, less things to do in the city, and more boredom (less options, empty free space) has brought me even MORE joy and gratitude for daily life.

It is why I am no longer a city dweller, an excitement chaser, a thrill-seeker. I used to go into the city so often before the quarantine. But after confinement, I seek so much more time at home and in nature. Living a slow lifestyle in France and in the country - and even more so because of the quarantine - has taught me that the simple joys, the small pleasures, are right here in the present. We don't need to go outside into excitement to feel deep fulfillment and inner peace.

True happiness and fulfillment don't come from outside of us. Joy doesn't come from what we own or how busy, popular, productive, or successful we are. It comes from a connection we feel within ourselves. Joy - genuine joy - comes from within.

I hope you enjoy this film and that it captures the radiant beauty of the city of Strasbourg, France - a city that is just near my home in the countryside of Alsace. :)
