Amazing Bug Hunting: Giant Katydid, Rare Butterflies & Beetles

In this video, I explore the garden to catch giant butterflies, rare beetles, and one incredible Giant False Leaf Katydid hidden among the trees and banana plants.

Today’s real bug hunting adventure takes place around my tropical garden, where I use a butterfly net to catch butterflies and carefully collect other insects by hand. All insects are temporarily placed inside a large transparent acrylic container for closer observation before being safely released back into nature.

One of the most exciting discoveries in this video is a huge Giant False Leaf Katydid found resting on a banana tree. This massive katydid produces a loud and unusual sound, making it one of the most fascinating insects I have ever encountered during my outdoor bug hunting adventures.

The garden is also filled with beautiful giant Jungle Queen butterfly butterflies flying through the plants and trees. Their large wings and slow graceful flight make them one of the highlights of this video.

During today’s insect exploration, I also find:
• a Slender Skimmer dragonfly
• a colorful Yellow-banded blister beetle
• a fascinating Japanese St. Andrew’s Cross Spider
• two mating Leaf-footed bug
• a metallic Campsosternus mirabilis
• two shiny Golden Leaf Beetle

• a possible Asiatic Garden Beetle
• a Mattiphus bug
• a Phaedyma columella butterfly
• and a striking orange-red butterfly that may be a Julia butterfly
