Dr Parampalan is a Senior consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist who has been working in the Ministry of Health, Malaysia for the last 32 years. She is currently the Head of Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology in Penang Hospital in Malaysia. Dr Parampalam is also the Vice President of the Malaysian Patient Blood Management Society.
