AFRICA Fashion Exhibit BDAY VLOG | Field Museum

Come explore the Field Museum in Chicago with me! 🦖✨ I had no idea what to expect, but from the moment we walked into Stanley Field Hall, we were greeted by SUE the T. rex 🦖 and Máximo the Titanosaur 🦕 (so epic!). But the real star of the day? The African Fashion Exhibit that features over 180 jaw-dropping looks from more than 20 African countries! 🌍💃🏾

I loved seeing how the exhibit celebrated Africa’s cultural renaissance, from liberation-era designs to modern haute couture, featuring stunning brocades, beaded details, headwraps, and bold prints. There were even mannequins with beautiful Black skin tones + hairstyles that honored the culture! 🖤✨

Bonus: We peeked into the Cyrus Tang Hall of China and its incredible artifacts too! 🏺🐉

P.S African elephants are endangered due to a combination of factors, primarily poaching for ivory and habitat loss. These threats, combined with human-elephant conflict, have led to significant population declines. They are classified as critically endangered but still alive amongst us!
