"Grant approached the Blackwall, felt the relief of pressure as the ghost-veil once again snapped away into the membrane. This time he followed it, and found another flaw. A persistent one.
He recognized his old architecture at the edges of the seam, adapting to each repair vector, preventing full closure. The wound was infected. An uncontrollable rage welled up inside him. Instead of cauterizing the site, NetWatch left it open. Leverage over the NUSA, leverage keeping him underground. Grant shifted out from under the ghost-veil, his presence triggered a correction surge.

“Come and get me.”

“Wait! Don’t!” a voice replied back. Encoded, but human."
