McEnroe vs Connors - 1980 U.S. Open SF (Highlights Pt 1)

4pm, Saturday, September 6, 1980 - Flushing Meadow, New York and one of the most extraordinary men's semifinals is taking place between two great American competitors, John McEnroe #2 seed and Jimmy Connors #3 seed at the U.S. Open.
McEnroe had defeated arch- rival Ivan Lendl in a four -set quarterfinal. In the semifinal, he would meet Connors (another arch rival) who he had defeated in the Wimbledon semifinals that year. Meanwhile Bjorn Borg, then ranked #1 and McEnroe's third and greatest rival, had won the first semifinal earlier that day defeating Johan Kriek, in 5 sets. Borg, who won the French and Wimbledon titles was closing in on the Grand Slam.
