Eyelash Viper: Fowl or Meat ?
The Eyelash Viper is a pit viper found throughout the lowlands of Costa Rica. The pointed scales above the eyes may have evolved to protect it's eyes from vines and vegetation as it moves around. This viper has great camouflage and often just sits and waits until an unsuspecting prey wanders by. It's tail is prehensile which is a great help while climbing.
