"Saelic" is a medieval Minnelied by Gottfried von Neifen. It is written in Middle German, which I learned ages ago for a very short time.

On the one hand the song describes the beauty of May and depicts various spring-like natural settings. On the other hand it complains about the cruelty of love. Minnelieder are dressed to (mainly noble) women who were out of reach for the minstrel.
