I spent days in a treestand with a wild boar and chicken tied below me for bait. Massive gators were lured in. Ripping flesh and tearing at the bait, I waited for the King Daddy to begin feeding. With the string tied to a chicken I flopped it in the water to trick him. He made his move and when he clamped down, I let er fly.
