NEWLY DISCOVERED John Charles Daly film! "1952 Biennial Nursing Convention in Atlantic City"
Thanks once again to the combined efforts of the members of the WML Facebook group, I'm pleased to be able to share this newly discovered 1952 film narrated by John Charles Daly! As with other very rare material posted to this channel (a previously lost WML episode, and a WML spoof done on the Garry Moore Show), Stan Taffel provided his expertise in both winning the auction in the first place, and even more importantly, restoring and transferring the film itself.
So again, this wouldn't have been possible without the never-ending, always-enthusiastic support of the fan community, who in this case contributed the funds to purchase the film, while Stan did, well, everything else. :) Stan has a couple of websites which I hope folks will take some time to check out:
- To learn more about his screenings in the Los Angeles area, and more generally, the film preservation projects he's working on: http://hollywoodparty.org/
- And his personal website: http://stantaffel.com/
This is just the first new video of many more to come this summer, all to be posted on the weekend, leading up to a really big surprise that no one's going to see coming for a mile. Stay tuned!
---------------------------------------
WATERMARK EXPLANATION:
I apologize if any folks are irked at the watermark added to the video. I hope no one finds it overly distracting, but this is the least intrusive I could possibly make it without leaving myself vulnerable to theft of the video. There are thieving channels all over YouTube that do nothing but download other people's posts and reupload them to steal the views, and a watermark is the only effective defense against it.
