Flagstaff, Arizona (4K)

Flagstaff is the county seat of Coconino County in northern Arizona and has a population around 75,000 people. In this video I visit the historic flagstaff for which the city is named. I also take in the scenic view from Lowell Observatory. The main focus of the video is the downtown area including the historic Hotel Monte Vista where I spent the night. The hotel was built in 1927 and is the centerpiece of the historic downtown district. Many famous people have spent the night at the hotel, including: John Wayne, Spencer Tracy, Humphrey Bogart, Clark Gable, Anthony Hopkins, Esther Williams, and Barbara Stanwyck. The hotel was a filming location for the 1942 romantic drama Casablanca. There have been many alleged ghost sightings at the Hotel Monte Vista. One of the sightings involves a "Phantom Bell Boy" that knocks on guests' doors in the middle of the night and will talk to the guest.
