Run #Ubuntu #Linux on #Android for developers | No Root Needed
In this tutorial, I’ll show you how to install Ubuntu Linux on Android using Termux, without needing root access. We’ll configure Ubuntu to auto-launch every time you open Termux and set up essential developer tools like Git, Python3, and Java using SDKMAN. Follow these steps to turn your Android device into a powerful development environment!
Steps Covered:
1. Install Termux – Download Termux from the Play Store or F-Droid.
2. Install proot-distro – We’ll use this package to run a Linux distribution without rooting your device.
3. Install Ubuntu Linux – Set up and install Ubuntu within Termux using proot-distro.
4. Auto-Launch Ubuntu – Configure Termux to automatically start Ubuntu when you open the app, saving time and eliminating the need to manually run the proot-distro login Ubuntu command.
5. Install Developer Tools:
- Git: Set up Git for version control and project management.
- Python3: Install Python3 to start building applications.
-SDKMAN: Manage different versions of Java with ease.
6. Run and Test Ubuntu on Android – We’ll finish by running Ubuntu and testing the installed developer tools to ensure everything works smoothly.
