I must say that the design is originally inspired by "King Of Random" hosted by "Grant Thompson". This guy is very creative and you can definitely learn a lot from him so be sure to check out his videos if you haven't already done so! He has like 8 million subscribers so that should speak for it self!

The only thing is that the "mini metal foundry" made out of a Galvanized bucket, is too small for my application as i got a hold of 83 Hard Drives and wanted to melt them without having to cut or smash them. I think it would be too much work for nothing so some Modifications where needed.
So after considering a lot of things, the easiest was a propane tank as it was sitting empty on my balcony. I also cut the 1" steel pipe end that goes into the foundry at a 45 degree angle and aligned it so it can match the curvature of the clay inside for better airflow. You can see how well it works running on a 12v battery.

I epoxy-ed the square metal piece that i cut before under the pipe and then added fresh patch all around the pipe for the air not to escape, and for extra support as The foundry tends to start chipping around the pipe first from excessive heat and from connecting/ disconnecting the air pump.

The air pump is just an old hair dryer that i took apart. If you are trying to do this, you need to make sure to snip of the bridge Rectifier soldered to the back of the fan to get access to the two terminals of the fan only otherwise a 12 v DC supply will not be enough to power your the fan. i cut out a brisk bottle and used hot glue to make sure no air escapes. I heated up the 1" pvc with a heat gun and shoved the brisk bottle top into the pipe. A fully charged 12v battery was reading 12.7 v before i started. After 4 hours of continuous use,it was reading 12.2v still. I was impressed because i took two extra batteries with me thinking i might need them the first time.

The crucible was made from a 10 lbs fire extinguisher that i cut after emptying of course. i drilled two holes facing each other and put in two Zinc plated bolts with nuts to hold them in place. I drilled a small hole in the bottom lip of the extinguisher and i inserted the safety ring that comes with the extinguisher into the whole and bent it in place so it won't come out. This is to be able to tip the crucible when its red hot using a hook of some sort. I was using the hook for a car jack :).

Anyways, i think enough said for now. If you have any more questions or would like further clarification please drop me a line and i will be happy to answer your questions if i know the answers!!!

Thank you for reading and watching and have a great day/night!!!
