Cricket Ball Grip For Pace Bowlers Part-1 🏏🔥 #cricket #academy #coaching #training #practice

Gripping the cricket ball correctly is crucial for pace bowlers because it controls swing, seam, and speed. Here’s a simple guide on how to grip a cricket ball for fast bowling:
⚡ Basic Grip (Seam Up Fast Bowling)
Hold the seam vertically:
The seam should run straight between your index and middle fingers.
Finger placement:
Place your index and middle fingers on top of the seam, slightly apart.
The seam should rest comfortably between them.
Your ring and little fingers should be relaxed on the side of the ball.
Thumb position:
Place your thumb lightly on the seam (or just below it) on the underside of the ball.
Keep it comfortable — not too tight.
Grip pressure:
The ball should be held firmly but not squeezed.
Think of holding a bird — tight enough that it doesn’t fly away, but gentle enough not to hurt it.
Shiny side:
For outswing: shiny side should face leg side (for right-arm bowler to right-hand batter).
For inswing: shiny side should face off side.
💨 Tips for Pacers
Keep your wrist upright and behind the ball while releasing.
Use your fingers, not the palm, to generate pace and seam movement.
Maintain the ball’s shine — it helps with swing.
Practice different grips:
Cross-seam for bounce.
Wobble seam for unpredictable movement.
