Uncovering the Secrets of Sophia's F3 Round 2 in Albert Park Adventure! +400k fans watching F1/F2/F3

My trip to FIA F3/F1 in Melbourne Down Under is now approaching the race days. Due to the jetlag after more than 24 hours of travel time, it is now getting serious on the race track in Albert Park.

The FIA F3 is racing here for the first time. The FIA F2 has also never been here before. This means that none of the 10 F3 teams has experience and data to fall back on in detail, as is usually the case. Furthermore, the 5,278 mtr. long street circuit in the middle of Melbourne offers almost no run-off zones, the concrete wall is very close in many corners and especially at the exit of the corners. The track layout is very fast. If you're over the limit in one of the 14 corners, your car will often break down.

The cars came directly from Bahrain to Melbourne. If you know the really small container boxes of the F3/F2 teams, you understand that updates, material swaps, further development can't be far off. Since our performance in Bahrain was not really convincing, and we were here on a top speed track where downforce and grip in the car are very important, our motto was again to collect as many race kilometers as possible, to understand the car and above all the tires. Everyone in the team is highly motivated to reduce the gap to the midfield. But nobody can do magic and without tests and material it is difficult. If you try a new setup in the race, it's just very suboptimal.

After P25 in qualifying, it was then enough in the sprint race on Saturday to P16 and in the main race on Sunday to P18 of the 30 starters. In other words, in the top 20 in both races.

The cooperation with the ALPINE F1 Academy is really positive. There are lots of tips on the direction I can take as a driver. The support is really motivating and productive.

With SKY, I have another task this weekend. Have you seen the interviews in the pre-reports? The short reports from the grid? It's fun. Feel free to ask me questions or write things via IG in the comments there. I will try to include your questions. What do you think?

The fans in Melbourne are great. It was reported that there were somewhere between 400-600k spectators at Albert Park. I can only say: A mega atmosphere! Young people, families... All happy and friendly. Party.

In the F1 race there was real action. Unfortunately too much for the ALPINE F1 Team. Piere and Esteban ended at the restart in the last race laps already shortly after turn 1 in the wall. Great recognition how the team and drivers deal with such setbacks professionally and do not let themselves be distracted.

Have fun watching!
