Keef Sympathy For The Devil solo tone

There’s been a lot of debate over the internet about that squeaky Sympathy For The Devil solo tone. But to me no one really got it right. It is unclear about what Keef used but we know for sure he had a Vox amp and his Gibson Les Paul Custom 3 pickups for most of Beggars Banquet. It might have something to do with the console EQ or maybe something else like a wah pedal left on the *on* position, which is basically the same principle and to me that sounds pretty close...
