Yuval Harari Q&A section moderated by Victor Pinchuk at the 16th YES Annual Meeting

Yuval Noah Harari, author and Professor of History at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, stated that the new technologies can make people’s life better but it is not possible to rely only on them because the way of their usage is a political decision. He also believes that the politicians should shift their attention from terrorism to climate change and AI as they are more dangerous nowadays.

Harari does not exclude that mankind has to repeat some mistakes from the previous centuries to learn the same lesson again. However, he thinks that part of the mission of historians, anthropologists, and intellectuals is to serve a common memory of humankind in that can help not to repeat the same mistakes again and again.
