East Sepik prepares to receive Sir Michael

East Sepik Province is preparing to receive Grand Chief Sir Michael Somare’s body, with plans that the mourning will be decentralised to the districts and communities.

A committee has been set up and will be led by the deputy provincial administrator (corporate services) Samson Torovi, who will oversee the funeral program in the province.

The people have taken the initiative to clean up the town and organised other public gatherings, including a walk on Monday morning which started at Perigo and ended at NBC.
