Here's my interpretation of Paul Anka's lovely song for his father in the form of a basic guitar tutorial with chords and the full song at the end. I am reproducing the live version of the song to some extent rather than the studio version.

Years ago I covered this song and it is one of my most viewed uploads on YouTube. When I was asked to do a tutorial on it, I was deeply humbled since Paul Anka was a huge influence on me growing up and I've always had the greatest respect for his singing and songwriting.

Coincidentally, my mother and Paul Anka went to the same school in Ottawa and his was one of the first concerts I attended at the National Arts Centre when I was 9 or 10 years old.

So, it's an honour to sing this beautiful song and I hope that someone out there enjoys this and maybe gets some help playing it. This is a rather long tutorial (and not fancy, by any means). I do a semi-full version of the song towards the end of the video in case you want to skip the learning part and hear me sing it with backing tracks.
