THIS OLD GUITAR - John Denver - Live Cover by Daniel Zhou

THIS OLD GUITAR by John Denver, cover by Daniel Zhou, is recorded in beautiful Coquitlam British Columbia Canada on July 14, 2017.
I was first introduced to John Denver's music in the mid-1980s and was captivated by the guitar and his simple songs and became his fan immediately. His music has accompanied me since and made a huge impact on my life. When I was young, I did not know how to appreciate it. As I am getting older, I have realized that his music has taught me a lot about friendship, love, family, and life. John was gone too early too soon, but I've always wanted to pay tribute and say "THANK YOU" to him. So, this is my interpretation of "This Old Guitar" to recognize his music and to celebrate his life.
Also, I would love to take this opportunity to dedicate this song to my beautiful and lovely wife. Baby, this one is for you. LOVE YOU!

Notes:
John Denver wrote this song about a 1910 Gibson "F-hole" acoustic jazz guitar his grandmother gave him when he was 12 years old. This was the same guitar she used to play, and it became Denver's prized possession, as he learned to love music playing the instrument. Denver would often talk about the guitar in concert appearances and interviews, as it was such an important part of his development. He was living in Tucson, Arizona when he got the guitar, as his father, who was in the Air Force, was stationed there. He died on October 12, 1997, and his body was cremated along with this same guitar. The remains were spread over the Rocky
Mountains.
