Going through some Weber type bottle fuses and show why they use inserts (passchroeven, NL) to protect the wiring downstream of the fuse enclosure.
They are also called diazed fuses, zekeringen (NL)
A well designed system in its time, to avoid people putting an oversized fuse in a circuit with wiring rated for a certain amperage.
