Remembering Abbie...a life way too short.

Abbie suffered a severe and sudden onset of Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia. In this condition, the immune system of the dog is involved, where the body starts generating antibodies against the red blood cells, by wrongly identifying them as foreign bodies. This leads to destruction of healthy red blood cells. This is the most dreaded of all hemolytic anemia causes.
It was theorized that the cause of Abbie's illness may have been a tic or vaccinations.
