The Origins of Italians
Modern Italians are part Southwestern European and part "Eastern Mediterranean." Their SW Euro ancestry comes from the prehistoric populations of Italy. Their East Med ancestry comes from the Greek colonies which were established in Southern Italy in 800 BC and whose people immigrated across Italy after being conquered by Rome.
