Under-Sea-Ice Observation Tube at McMurdo Station, Antarctica

Video of the ocean beneath the sea ice at McMurdo Station, Ross Island, Antarctica. I included a bit of the hike out towards the Observation Tube just to give people a bit of a view for what it's like walking around station, but I don't have access to high-quality video equipment or editing software in the field-- skip to 1:52 if you'd like to focus on the Ob-Tube without most of the camera shake during the walk to get there. The Ob-Tube had great views of brinicles (explained in the video) and the sounds of seals chirping underwater. It was beautiful!

**Make sure your video quality is set to HD (720p) in order to read the text embedded in the video that explains the process of brinicle formation. This video is part of the blog article 'Brinicles Under the Sea Ice' at http://www.thelastdegrees.wordpress.com
