I was invited to provide visual accompaniment to this special performance of the seminal E2-E4. I decided to prepare no content and relied entirely on my archaic MX50 vision mixer, an old Kramer video processor and an Edirol V4 video mixer. Wipe patterns were my only way of generating moving images that could then be effected by feedback and rudimentary effects.
Inspiration came from abstract filmmakers such as Malcolm Le Grice, The Whitney Brothers and Norman Mclaren. Creating improvised moving images with this live process is inspired in part by Structural/Materialist film performances of the 60s and 70s.
