When NBA Superstars UNLOCK GOD MODE

Klay Thompson’s 37 points in one quarter is the undisputed NBA record when it comes to one period. And the fact that he accomplished that without missing a single shot is astonishing.
And even though a lot of you probably know this iconic performance, a video like this has to start with it.
But you probably haven’t seen some of the ones that follow. What up everybody my name is Stefan and this is Heat Check. Let’s get into it.
In 2015 Steph Curry and Omri Caspi had a shooting deathmatch. In the last 3 minutes of the quarter they scored a combined 9 threes. Look at the clock and the possessions.
Basically every possession was a shot from downtown from either Curry or Caspi. Both the crowd as well as the benches went crazy watching this incredible shooting exhibition where the Israeli sharpshooter went mano a mano against Steph. And for those of you wondering where he is now, Caspi is not on an NBA roster, but rather playing in the Euroleague.
Unfortunately this grainy footage is the only proof of Lebron James unlocking God Mode and scoring 16 points in just 2 and a half minutes. What’s even crazier here are the heat checks that he starts taking once he knows he’s in the zone. Looking at these shots we can all just imagine what this feeling is like.
If you thought that was a lot of points in a short time, Kyle Korver once scored 11 points in 4 straight possessions. All of this took exactly 1 minute. Amazing. And a bonus in this whole situation is the fact that the Bucks didn’t score so this was an 11-0 run single handedly made by Kyle Korver. He stepped on the second shot but as you can see all of these are from downtown.
But if you thought that was quick, Paul Milsap once scored the same amount but in 29 seconds. Now this is crazy. Down by 8 against the Miami Heat superteam, with half a minute to go, this should have been over. But then Milsap went ballistic to ultimately tie the game at the buzzer and Utah even won in overtime. A total of 46 points, this has to be the game of his career.
And if you don’t know this iconic clip, hang on cause it’s about to get even crazier.
In 2004 Tracy Mcgrady scored 13 points in 35 seconds. That’s 4 threes in a row and one of them was a tough four point play as you can see.
Keep an eye on the time and score to really understand what a comeback this was.
And this legendary, iconic game culminated with this crazy sequence at the end. Up by 2 the spurs inexplicably lose the ball and Tracy raises up for the win. And as you know, the rest is history.
Moving on, look at this moment. 2:20 to go in the 4th, and 2 more overtimes coming. From this moment on, the only guy who scored for the Cavs was Lebron James. And they won the game. What? Game 5 Eastern conference finals 2004 in one of the most epic performances that I’ve ever witnessed, Lebron had the last 25 points in a row for Cleveland, and 29 out of the last 30 points. Shoutout to Drew Gooden for helping out with 1 made free throw. To me this is the moment when James truly became the King, as the Cavs won this and closed out the series the next game to go to the finals. This is literally what carrying a team looks like. And I’ve never seen a similar thing since then.
And lastly, since we started off with Klay’s record, it’s only right that I mention the previous highest scoring quarter by Carmelo Anthony with 33 points. Melo actually hit more shots but he did have 3 misses as well. There was a time when he was widely considered to be the best offensive player in the league. And as you can see there was a pretty good reason for that.
