Project AirTank Complete, Lets Pressurize it & Tour Another 60 Gal External AirTank Part 2 * Air Pig

Now that I made an external air tank from an old air Compressor its time to check it for leaks. I'll use another air tank reservoir to fill the newly finished portable airtank.

The portable 13 gallon tank cleaned up nicely so lets fill it up & test it for leaks. In the mean time I will give a brief tour of the other 60gal external airtank I installed in the workshop. The main air compressor is housed in the front garage so I dug a trench in the dirt, laid over 100' of pvc pipe out to the back workshop, the pvc pipe is basically the casing for the premium braided 300psi rubber air hose that I pulled through it to connect the two tanks. The main air compressor is a good quality industrial brand, I think it can take the abuse of filling the extra volume of air. If not then it will be replaced. What are the benefits of having the air tank in the shop & the main compressor in another building you may ask, well for one it makes for a more pleasant shop experience not having to hear the compressor run while working on a project. Another reason is it does add more total air volume which is beneficial if using a hplv spray gun, using pneumatic air tools, using a sand blaster cabinet or a situation where large volumes of compressed air is needed. Another good reason is to free up the electric needed to power the compressor. For me I have a better circuit to power the compressor in the other garage then in my work shop so I can run multiple machines at once( table saw, dust collection, air filter, ext... ) & not have the air compressor interfere.
After 10 years of using a 6 gallon pancake style air compressor to power my air situation Im finally in style, sort of...
