The National Rail Locomotive Project.
The National Rail Locomotive Project represents the biggest investment in rail equipment in the history of Australia.
The first of the 120 new 4000hp 'Dash 9" locomotives were delivered in October 1996.
The $360 million investment is expected to transform the power, reliability and fuel economy of the fleet.
