App Insights monitoring Azure Functions tutorial
▸This video is an introduction to using App Insights to monitor your Azure Functions.

We are going start off by deploying an App Insights instance and then creating a new Azure Functions project in Visual Studio Community Edition. Once the project is created and we can start the simple function, we are going to move to the integration of the Azure Function into the Live Metrics portion of App Insights which we can use to monitor the events that our Azure Function is generating and sending into Azure. The next set of steps will take us through the more specific implementation of the TelemetryClient class through Dependency Injection in order to help the developers in writing more specific logging code that will allow them to collect more detailed metrics which can be instrumental in understanding how the code is behaving.
The last part of the video will show how to use the embedded Application Insights function of Visual Studio in order to provide a really nice developer experience in understanding coding issues as well as helping to fix them.
